currently working on 59 292, have switched to valley cover with pcv hookup in back of valley cover. I believe this hooks up to the back of the intake manifold. (on the old 2 barrel intake it hooked up to the front of the valley cover where a hole was tapped, looks like factory set up). I am putting on a edelbrock 600 csf carb. the carb has 3 vacuum ports on the back of the carb(2 small and one large). Whick one do I hook up to the distributor, and I assume that I need to block off the other 2 vaccum ports.
Thanks Marc

My 292's (two) have the hose with 2bbl carburetor and runs from the front, for the large hose that goes to the back rear of the valley pan, sure use it, it will work better for you, but remember you must still use the ventilated oil filler cap up front, but provided your hose is large enough for that valley pan PCV (Heater hose size) plus good vacuum, then you may plug off your road draft tube. On which small hookup of vacuum to use for your distributor advance, just crank it, and pick a small one, and rev a bit, maybe 50 RPM suddenly and feel which small one you can feel suction at this time, then you may use that for the distributor, that's all you need, and to answer which ones to plug off? any that are left open after you do it as i adviced you, good luck.....Janet
Your Edelbrock carb should have 2 small vacuum ports on the front and 1 large in the rear. The passenger side port is "ported" vacuum. Use the driver's side port for the distributor vacuum advance.
Oops, you're right. There is a port on the backside which gets a pipe plug if unused. Block off the big tube and the passenger side tube up front and use the driver's side for the dizzy.
Does anyone know what kind of blockoff plate will work to plug off the road draft tube?
I've heard that a Volkswagon fuel pump blockoff plate is an exact fit, but have'nt had a chance to find out for sure.
I guess one could be fabricated also.
