Damn it !
I've been on the laptop for 5 days now.
It seems I've toasted the MB and some Brand New DDR memory on the desktop.
I have lots of new hardware so it will just be:
a new case
a new MB
a New processor.
I have to start saving again to build my own this time and upgrade to this set-up.

Thoughts?
Where did you go online? Is there anyway you could have picked up some crap, directly or indirectly?
Not just online but new programs you either bought or d-loaded that might conflict with what you have?
Something like this happened to me twice.
I found the fault went away when I got rid of some stupiud programs by not necessarily trusty writers.
YOU WAITED FIVE DAYS TO TELL US?
DO YOU REALISE HOW FAR IT COULD SPAWN.......

I want the case for not onloy the looks but for what it holds and the cooling motors expansion
I can get computer cooling fans really cheap up here.
But, All my hardware is relatively new.
Power supply,DVDwriter CDR writer,3.5 Floppy, 80 Gig HD, 120 Gig HD, 2 sticks of DDR 266 which can be exchanged for the newer stuff at no extra cost.
I don't what happened except the MB and processor seemed to freak out.
I had SDRAM problems initially so I went ang got the 2 Micron DDR 2100 512mb sticks.
The puter worked okay for about a week.
The Ram was bad apparently.
Replaced it with Kingston sticks last week.
Upon installation,
The computer would work with one or the other but not both sticks at the same time.
With one stick of the new 512 DDR the puter would feeze up occasionally
With 2 sticks it wouldn't boot to windows ,I got a message saying it couldn't find Msconfig.
I had the computer tested twice at the same place.
Last week and now Tuesday
Last week they said it was the Micron DDR RAM
Yesterday, It is the Both sticks new Kingstoin RAM failing in certain sectors plus the MB and processor.
The tech guy said it just wore out from overuse.
Let's just say it has become possessed.
I'm looking for feedback on the MB & processor I chose.
I wuld also like to get a card (if that's what it's called) to watch TV on the puter

MSI is a good name in boards. Have you checked out any of the review sites? They have good information about what's good and what's not. You're going to need a BIG heat sink for that chip, I think. If you don't have one to fit it, expect to spend another $60 or so for a good one.
I like Antec cases - I bought an ultra-quiet model and I love it. You can barely hear it run.

It sure wasn't me ....even thinking that caused the MB and prosessor to fail.

Pay the extra $$ for higher quality mb's, they're worth it.
....just trying to help.

Personally, I'm happy with my Asus board. I spent almost $200 on it, but it was worth it. Fits perfectly, zero reliabilty problems.
The only issue I have is that the CPU fan clogs up with dust and the chip gets too hot.
Son says:
MSI M-bds are OK
Gigabyte are better
He used to use A-bit but they were bought out by another company and he has no idea about present quality.
It sounds like you are shopping at a local supplier. The case you are looking at shows to be on backorder. If your local computer house stands behind the MSI board it would be OK. Have them assemble the computer but make sure you get all of the instruction manuals and installation disks.
