Want to buy a lift but dont know what size
Can you guys post some pictures of your lifted F-250/350. I want to buy a lift, but i dont know what size. I was thinking about going with a 4 inch with 33 inch tires, or a 6 inch, but i dont want to go any bigger than 33's because of gas milage...
Thanks,
Brent

that is just my case now. i will have some pics when im done the lift that i am currently installing. my story-
went with a leveling kit (2") with new springs. didn't like the baloney skin 265's i had on there, so i went with 33"s, figuring i wouldnt want to lift it. but now i want to. it sits about 1" lower in front, looks good. i got the Donahoe Racing 4.5" srping hanger kit with 4" rear blocks, that i will be using with my leveling kit. so essentially it will be 6.5" front and 4" rear. sits perfectly level or about that im guessing. will be doing some custom block-welding and gusseting, with custom +4" u-bolts to add to the mix, and then i will have pics when it's all on and done. check my gallery for pics of how it sits now (new pics). will be getting 35's when the 33's wear out, but i think it will look great.

Here is a picture of mine with the Donahoe 4.5" lift. It has 5.5" blocks in the back and sits pretty level. Tires are BFG AT 285/75/16. I like how it looks right now, but the plan is to go to 35's when these tires wear out.

Hey Bob, I got the 35's on mine with no lift (as yet) Still haven't gotten the time to drop by that place in Plainfield, but I think I'm going for it in mid-June after I see what I have left from re-roofing my house! Oh, and also buying a new PC...that's why I seem to have fallen off the earth ...hahahhah
Anyways, I am probably going w/ a 4" myself and plan on doing it in my driveway....How hard can it be? ( famous last words ... )

All day project
Installing the lift kit not so bad but it's a all day project or at least 4 to 5 hours by you'r self if everything go's as plan but the good old Murphy Law always comes in to play.
Air tools good jacks and jack stands do come in handy make sure you tourqe every thing and retourqe everything after couple hundred miles.
Oh yea you better have a air impact with a lot of Waballs some of thoses bolts and nuts are tight also a good pitman arm puller.
If I remember right the pitman nut is tight. My Impact puts out 600 ft lbs of tourqe out it had a time getting this nut off same as for getting the pitman tool it going take some good tourqe to get this off also.
The track bar bolt is also a tight and takes some doing it has some type of locktight stuff on it they say putting heat of the bolt help.
Do tighting or tourqe the shackle, Leaf Spring Bolts, and U Bolts untill the weight of the truck is on them and on the ground, just tighten enough to hold everything in place this let every thing seat in to place before final tourqe.
You could tear the leaf spring bushing if you do the tourqing them off the ground then put the then weight of the truck on them remember if you do the nut and bolt tourqing off the groung it put the rubber bushing in a bind when you put weight on them they twist the rubber insert, they only twist so far before they tear and this is a bad thing.
Tourqing the leaf spring shackle bushing with truck weight on them puts the bushing in a more netrual postion so the can twist in ethier direction with out tearing.
As for the U bolts more of the same do you'r self a favor do final tighting or tourqing with weight on them.
But when it's all done and over with it is a good thing to see what you have done.
Good Luck and have fun
