ok well i just rebuilt my carb bout and hour ago....and it started rainin so im not sure if that worked cuz i aint go out there right now..hehe...tomorrow tho ill give ya an update now the distributor pickup is the 3 wires and connectors yea then tose are hooked up and the vac advance. not workin? its a brand new distributor...i noticed, as i was tryin to start it, that the starter coil got REAL hot is the starter coil bad? and there is a green wire that runs off the starter coil but i dont think its a ground...the 2 wires come in to the starter coil and on one of those two spliced in is that wire which runs out an leads no where....(i forgot where it went) kick myself
If it was running before don't mess with anything else. Look for changes you have made. Making too many changes at once can lead to problems like you have.
hey i have a 351M and its will not start i just recently replaced the cam, the distributor, the carb was rebuilt...i timed it right....and yea i put it all back together exactly the way it is supposed to be....y wont it start? my symptoms are nah nah nah boom! or nah nah nah pheeeeww(from the carb) and it wont start!
hey hey i figured it out.....surprisingly im not getting ne spark! now this is a new distributor new wires new coil and tomorrow a new ignition module.....if that doesnt work then i dont know wut else to do but call a wrecking company..haha
I had this problem with my 400 and after going through everything you did i found out my plug wires were on the cap clockwise and the rotor was truning counterclockwise. Take your cap off and crank the motor and watch the rotor turn. The direction it turns should be the direction the wires go around the cap.
