Truck stalling out

My 1993 F-150 V8 5.0 Liter truck has begun stalling out when I shift into reverse or when starting from a stop sign or light. I have installed a new rotor new distributor cap, new ignitions wires and new spark plugs and set the gap to .052 per spec and it still stalls out. I checked the air filter and it appears to be relatively clean.
Any suggestions as to what I should check/replace next would be appreciated.

may want to pull codes. sounds like a IAC or TPS

I would pull codes to be sure these parts can be a bit pricy

i had this problem with my nova, it was the timing, check tht mayb the timing retarded a little bit

I'm not sure what you mean by pull codes. Do you mean connect to the diagnostic 'plug' and check diagnostic info? If so, how would I do that not having the Ford diagnostic equipment?

I have the shop manual and it says this engine does not have any settable timing adjustments. Timing is controlled by an internal computer : (

You can buy a code reader, such as an Actron CP9015, for about $30 or you go to an Auto Zone and they will help you out for free. This is by far one of the best tools I have added to my tool box. Very simple to use and you don't need to rely on a shop for repairs.
