UPDATE: Tips from AutoMeter Gauge install this weekend

I drilled mine dry, and the shop vac trick seemed to work for me, it hasn't blown up yet. I did the 4 pod setup, and yes, the gauges are not a perfect fit, but I did get them flush. Instead of using the thumb screws autometer gives you, run to home depot and get 8-32 lock nuts (double check the size at home depot with one of the thumb screws). With the lock nuts being much shorter than the thumb screws, you can use a wrench an 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time to tighten the gauges down (It's a pain, but at least you won't see any white behind the bezel). I also used screw caps only at the top to secure the gauge to the pillar, because there is no way the plastic plugs were being used, and the bottom is definately not going anywhere. Hope this helps some of you.
