8.8" friction modifier needed ?

Is the 8.8" rear diff, limited slip?
I'm about ready to drain fluid and refill and need to know if R. Diff also needs
friction modifier?
What is the proper gear oil for the 8.8?
The owners manual is very vague about which Differential came with the truck.
The R. Diff is shuttering during cornering after highway driving.
It shutters harder when towing trailer.
I figure I will try new gear oil and go from there.

thanks,
Adipose

what axle code has the door jamb sticker got on it? post it up and they can tell you what is inside the 8.8"

Like my 96' is a "12" so its 2.73:1 open diff according to my manual
and the 85' is a "19" (if i remeber right) its a 3.55:1 open diff

when i did the diff in the 85 i just used some SAE 90 i think it was

Not much help i know
Joe
