Dana 60 question

I know that the D60 is stronger than a D44.
I know that the D60 is a wanted item.
I just bought a '79 parts truck with a D60 front axel, and have had several people wanting to buy the axel for more than I paid for the truck.
My question is, will the D60 add enough value to my truck to make it worth changing axels? I don't think I need the extra strength for what I do with my truck, but the brag and gloat factor, along with any extra value might make it tempting.

what are you going to do with your truck, that front axle is worth 1000-1200 complete, you can throw a dana 44 out of a 250 in easily and it would be fine for a tow rig

Doesn't really make the truck worth anymore. An old ford 4x4 that's worth money has a perfect body, excellent paint, interior and a nice running engine. A really nice truck with a 60 isn't going to go for more than a really nice truck with a 44. They are a pretty darn tough axle. The 80 and earlier 60's have slightly weaker inner axles than later stuff, but I like knowing my truck won't break when I need it to get a job done and the kingpin 60's are far easier to work on than any balljoint axle.
