So i went ahead and changed my fuel filter yeasterday for the first time. I didn't have any instructions to follow, I just to off the plastic engine cover and unskrewed the old fuel filter, switched the lid and droped the new one in. My question is I didn't drain the fuel bowl. Will this be a problem. BTW the reason I changed my fuel filter was because I just got done running 45gals of B20 through my truck and heard it is best to change the filter shortly after.
Let me know if there is anything I should do.
Thanks
It's better to drain the filter out before you changed the filter. It's the yellow lever on the rear of the filter housing.
Other than that you did fine.
Yeah, It makes it a little less messy if you drain it first also before you drain it install a piece of 5/16 fuel line to drain tube or you'll get about a pint of diesel all over you and your drive way. Just drain it into something clear like a coke bottle or something so you can see if there is anything in it. Hope this helps. LPR
Oh also don't foreget to put some diesel on the o ring and make sure it is in the right way. Also don't know what you used to unscrew but the oil filter wrench is same size.
