Tranny swaps

Would a 67-72 NP435 swap into a 1967 F100 2WD 3-on-the-tree behind a 300 six withiout too much mods, except cutting a hole in the floor? Or were the NP435s used just in 4WD applications? I want to go to one for mainly the 6.69 1st, but also for the availability of aftermarket parts. Nobody sells performance parts for the 3.03 3 speed, at least no one I can find. Thanks.

I don't know about the bellhousing on your engine, but I do know that they used the NP 435 behind the FE's in two wheel drive trucks.

I have a '67 F-100 2 wheel drive and it had the 240 six and a NP-435 transmission originaly.
