with my 2000 excursion. Every mourning when I go to start it up and let it warm up, it stumbles and acts like it is running out of fuel, but then picks right up. It does the same thing whem I get ready to leave work.

Yeah do a search for IAC (idle air control) valve. That is a problem child that causes bad idle and stalling at idle. Is the truck a V10? If it is you will get tons more responses in the V10 forum, very smart guys down there. they know everything V10.
I agree with MadMedic. My Ex was experiencing the same problem.I was scared to death to take my 2000 EX into the dealer for fear of ......well you know.
Anyways, I called my local dealer and got an honest ''over the phone '' diagnosis from the service manager. He told me to replace the IAC valve which was something I had never heard of. Told me where to locate it and how easy it was to change. He said it is a VERY common problem on the EX's . $50 or so dollars and 20 minutes later Excursion ran like new. That was 2 years ago
I used to had a similar problem like yours. I had replaced the PVC and the IAC and it continue with the same effects. In the morning or after a long day when starting, the truck act like it was going to die and a few seconds later (abut 4 seconds) it idle fines... I took it to the ford dealer and it turns out one of the exhaust manifold bolt on the passanger side had broken off. At that time, I couldn't figure out how a simple bolt can cause so much hell to my Excursion but that simple bolt made a air leak. I can't remember exactly but think I recall a sound too.
