ok Im PISSED the guy that i purchased the stuff from was NO HELP. Im gonna send it back and go for something different get my money back and go with somehting louder. What will give me the same thing as the Magna Flow that is loud and i will just put some turndown tips on it. anymore help would be great. Thanks.
Check out purple hornies (goofy name but great sound) glasspack with turndowns built right in. Glasspacks are the easiest, and you can't go wrong with the sound.
i personally think glass packs sound like crap.....flowmaster is the way to go but they rust out to nothing in 3 years especially if you live in the NE like me.....bolora is a good brand, magnaflow but for sound get the flowmaster.....i'm putting flows on my truck and having one cat put on the truck for each side.....keep the front set for the fuel settings but puting the rear 02 sensor in the pipe.....already checked with "my" mechanic and he'll pass it.....should sound pretty good that way i think
well i went with my magna flow exhaust and had it installed by our mec. he had to redo alot of it because it didnt not fit right. well i like it but it is quiet and he said for 150$ he could get me a flowmaster muffler. I like the sound of my magna flows but what do you think?
IMHO, Dynomax's exhasuts and mufflers sound much better than Flowmaster - a deep adn rich tone, but I bought it because the Dynomax muffler does out-flow the Flowmaster, and that I could get it in a single exhaust to maintain the scavenging effect. Typical dual Flowmaster exhausts are a joke - they aren't duals, they add uneeded weight, they screw the scavenging effect to hell, and they don't sound good. IMO they're for the rice-burner guys who buy mods for looks, not for torque. If most of this crowd is any indication, we'll have F-150's with spoilers on them soon enough.
Research what you buy - don't let the nay-sayers tell you otherwise just because they bought whatever brand name sounded good.
I paid $380 for a cat back syst.. while it did help mileage and sound good, one of my converters came apart and filled and plugged the muffler. I had a local muffler shop replace the converters with highflow and true dueled it with 40 series flomasters. more mileage yet again, no check engine light, great sound, 10 times better than the cat back, and all for $430. $50 more for a custom 2.5 system and a very noticeable increase in acceleration. just food for thought.
I bought this kit through "Jegs" cost of $320. Myself and a buddy installed it in about 4 hrs. The clamps are a joke but I planned on having it welded anyway.
That cost $50. Anyone that has listened to my truck have been impressed.
As well as with the way it looks.

Did you have the local shop replace four converters for two, or four again?
What brand converter did you buy? Or did you trust them to do the job for ya? (I've learned to never trust 'em - specify exactly what ya want)
What did you decide to go with regarding the muffler? just curious
If thats to me i went with the Magna Flow muffler. sounds good and it does grab attenion and i like it even tho it took alot of mods compared to what they gave me.
