What is the stuff that Ford used to caulk the seams in the rain gutters and door jambs? I am stripping the cab on my 69 prior to repaint and I assume I will need to reseal these areas. What should I use?
Ford used a synthetic Resin based "body sealer" which was sold OTC by the dealer in a 3lbs tube (Part No. C3AZ-19560-A). Your local parts supplier should have a suitable equivalent product.
You can purchase 3M brand Drip-Chek sealer from most auto paint supply places. It comes in a tube the size of their weather strip adhesive. I think it is also available in caulking gut type tubes for the really serious jobs.
