On my way to the 4x4 Jamboree I always seem to find something or it finds me. A large group of trucks were merging onto the highway along with one Duramax who was smoking all his buddies and others. Well now....we thinks he has something
The scene leading up to this is not caught on video, my wife finally got her camera out just as I was saying HELLO!
And we never get sick of seeing something like that! Don't worry- I would;ve done the same thing. That's cool, but with a tralier it would've been cooler. Still nice to see. Although if I was in that Chevy I would've looked less happy than that guy!
BTW, the link works for me, but I had to wait for it to play through once choppy and then play it again smooth. But that could be my computer- it's really loaded down with video editing right now.
Thanks CT....my wife shot it with a digital camera not a video camera. All I said was I wish I had it on video.....she replied I got it..... ....well sort of.
A large group of trucks had merged onto the highway all going to the event, he was blowing smoke pretty good (I figure something like an Edge Box) and looking like King of Hill with his buddies.....but I happened to see it, so I ran him down..... Priceless when an unknown Ford from nowhere shows up and drives right by your fast D-Max..... If I caught the whole event on video it would have been nice, so you just get the end result.
I'm sure he traded in his tuner today and got sumthin faster....
I understand, thanks for filling me in. I run a stock 6.0 and have never had my foot to the floor yet, but I can tell it has *****. Is your's chipped?? If so what kind. Ive heard those duramax's are pretty fast but never "raced one" . Wouldn't trade my F250 for one anyway. I love my truck.

Hey Maxium... That was waaaayyyy cool! Recently my brother and I were tooling along the 10 freeway here in SoCal... which is usually fairly heavy with traffic, however, it was a Saturday, and there was virtually no traffic other than a black Duramax slowly approaching behind me. I slowed down, let him pull right up next to me, noticed he had guages, a big exhaust, and a couple hot chicks he wanted to impress, so I let him think he was the king. I could tell he was telling his passengers how fast his Bowtie was, so I nonchalantly reached over and punched the Attitude up to 5 (I always run with the Excal in, ready to rock) and with a poker face, looked at him and pointed straight out the windhield, and stood in it hard... Well, by the time his turbo was spooling, I had downshifted to 4th, banged 5th and ran it up to an indicated 100 MPH (approx. 117 MPH). I then slowed down and let him catch me... the chicks just stared, my brother laughed, and the Bowtie guy wouldn't even look at me! Just another beautiful day in the neighborhood. A couple side notes... I used to be a Chevrolet man, my SD is my first new Ford, and my first TurboDiesel bigger than a 4 cyl. I also try not to hotrod like this, as I have a radar bred 106 MPH invitation to the CHP ball from back in September... and that one hurt. One more thing, my brother owns a very nice '00 CrewCab Super Duty, but, it is a V-10, after that day of cruising, he has started to rethink his gasguzzler devotion!!
HaHaHa!! I had to watch the video about 10 more times!!! A few cool observations...
1) the sound
2) the speed you were traveling, as indicated at the end of the video by the distance between your truck and the Chrysler Minivan/Dodge truck pulling the horsetrailer, that you had just passed, and,
3) the ripples in the tonneau cover as your wife panned out the back window!!
wait, one more!!!
4) the smile on your face... that we couldn't see, but has to be there!!
Tim your pretty observant.... I also came from a GM line-up of vehicles.
The video doesn't appear as much is going on.
I parked it on his back bumper after I cleared traffic to introduce myself.
The sound you hear is his truck at WOT
I was getting a thumbs up not the No.1... You can run but not hide
You can faintly hear my truck spool up when I get beside the passenger door..
I do my racing on the track, I know it was..... stupid.
My wife is the one who suggested we should introduce ourselves.....
