I have a 97 f250 powerstroke and when pumping the diesel at a gas station i have to hold the pump and turn it to weird angles to keep the gas pumping or the pump will stop as if the gas tank is full. This is pretty frustrating and the same thing happens on both tanks. If anyone knows whats going on that'll help alot i'm completely confused.
thanks
its normal but the good news is that is fixable!! it is a bit involved though especially for the rear tank. here is the problem. the filler neck is a tube in a tube design that doesn't let air out of the tank fast enough. so the filler neck need to be removed fromt he truck and pull the center tube out and throw it away. then you will need to install another vent tube to come up to the top of the filler neck via a barb fitting. i used 1/2 hose from the roller over valve on the top of the tank fitted with another barb fitting but it required a few fittings to get the big hole to 1/2 hose barb then just connect the hose to each end and your done. sorry i don't have more time to get more detailed but i will check back to help.
I have tried to post an answer to this today TWICE and both times it was zapped into moderated hell. Send me a PM if you want a pointer to directions on how to fix it. Of course, my PMs have been filtered in the past too so we'll see if that works or not.

Hopefully this was a slip in wording.
