Asked the wife about this one.
Small corsage or one rose
suit and tie your working, don't want to outshine kids
whatever matches suit or are the most comfortable, remember your working, checking for smokers, drinkers, etc. lots of walking.
The vette.
Bottle of wine and some choclates for after prom activities, or a nice dinner.
my wife is a food and beverage director at hotel also event planner coordinator

I asked Mrs. T. about this Ernie. Her immediate response was "Why ask me? You never take me anywhere, you forgot our anniversary and my birthday, you never buy me flowers, I haven't even seen you on the dance floor with me in 25 years, who was that woman you were talking to last night anyway? And everytime we go somewhere, you always wear an aloha shirt, shorts and flip flops so who cares what Ernie wears?"

Thanks Ernie.

Have a good time. Corsage, nice suit and tie, make sure the boots have a good shine. Dinner someplace nice is a no-brainer.

Take the Grand Marquis, so you still look like old folks....

Small corsage (she's still girl at heart), ask her about suit vs tux, Cowboy boots and truck or Vette to intimidate the HS kids whom you are watching (for isn't that really what we're talking about here as a chaperone?)

1) Should I get her a corsage? We're chaperones, remember.
Yes.

2) Tux or suit and tie?
Neither.......Black Wranglers, white western shirt with bolo, and a shorty (waist length) black tux jacket.....Hey, if it was good enough for Mr. Clint Black at the CMA's, it's good enough for you at a prom.

3) Cowboy boots or loafers?
No brainer, if you do the above.

4) What to drive?
Don't (drive). You're headin' up the best dog-gon Dealership this side of the Pecos - you deserve a Limo.

Small corsage...

A classy suit and tie - it is the kids night

BOOTS

Dissapointed I see that the M1A2 wasn't an option (the ultimate chaperone vehicle )... I would say a bright coloured Vette

Go all out and treat it as your first date and make sure she has the best of everything that day, which is easier said then done.

1) Should I get her a corsage? We're chaperones, remember.

yes

2) Tux or suit and tie?

Nice suit and tie unless you own a tux.

3) Cowboy boots or loafers?

Loafers, easier to dance. Unless you are short or wearing a cowboy hat, then go with the boots. If you go Tux, then go boots.

4) What to drive?

The Grand Marquis. You want to go out afterwards some place.

Also, less likely to be targeted by a thief in a parking garage. The low lifes of the world target such gatherings. One tried my wedding party, always a mistake when law enforcement is attending

Rocketscience- I like your style! Unfortunately, my only pair of dress jeans were in the wash.

At any rate, did a simple corsage and had a nice dinner catered in (more time to get ready). Wifey had a new hot pink dress that was...... well, hot. Took the HHR (wifey's choice), which worked out well because it just squeezed into street parking right in front.

Had a great time at the Prom. Great group of kids, no stories to tell. We were going to go to an after-rom party, but decided to go home and have our own.

Thanks for the input.

Glad to hear you had a good time Polar, when you have kids it's always a treat to be alone with your wife and remember what you liked about her to begin with. No matter how many years go bye i still see my teen sweety and want her just as much.

Dennis- Shined up my best pair of Tony Llama's for the event. Yep, boots it was.

soondg- ain't it the truth? We've got 27 years behind us, and I think she's just as hot as the day I married her.

Good job keep, her happy. If I had you forethought I would still be married rather than divorced and working the night shift.
