Is there a website where I can go and look up the schematics for front hub assembly? I have an old 1979 Ford Do-It-Yourself book, but it doesnt seem to have the correct assembly.
Or go to autozone.com and look at repair info. Look CAREFULLY. My 79 has the brake set up of an 85 Bronco. If you keeping digging through the instructions, you might find the right one. (Took me 3 hours...)
Thanks alot everybody. I worked until 2 tryin to figure it out, trying different things, and i got sleepy and started layin parts on the ground without realizing it. Now I gotta go back and re-clean everything and repack two of bearings that fell outa the rotor and hit the ground!!!!!! My dad just laughed when he heard how long I worked on it and still didnt get it...it just angers me because we deliberately took them apart slowly so he could explain the mechanics of the locking hubs and so I could see how it goes back together. yet i still cant do it....

normalli its bearing, nut index washer that must be lined up right with the tit on the nut then another nut to lock them together, then the spring then the center splines. then a retainer around that then the lockers bolted on..
thats how it usually goes on most.. or at least on my 79
I got it! It is grease seal, inner bearing, rotor, outer bearing, lock nut, lock ring, another lock nut, outer hub gears, spring, inner gear, screw, big lock ring, snap ring, cap (so for the oh-so-technical terms)
REMEMBER!!! The thrust washer (lock ring) has holes in it, the bearing lock nut has a tiny little pin sticking out for this (lock ring) to go into - Make sure when you put the bearing lock nut on, the little pin part is sticking out - not inwards into your newly repacked bearings. It will give you trouble really quick if you install that lock nut backwards!
