need help changing dash pad
Hi I was wondering if anybody in here could give me some info on whats involved and how hard it is to change the dash pad on my 78 supercab. I also need to change the winshield on the same truck because I'm sick of looking at the haze that occured around the borders ,because its an so old.In your opinions do you think the pad change would be easier if the winshields out or it doesn't matter.Thanks in advance

It does not matter if the windshield is out or not. I have changed many dash pads in these trucks always with the windshield installed and it takes about 30 min. if I take my time. You'll need to remove the glove box liner and gauge cluster from the dash (makes it much eaisier), remove the 5 screws on the top of dash (will need a shorty phillips head screw driver for the ones on each end), then remove the 8 dash pad nuts from under the dash (look on the replacement pad for location of nuts) by accessing them through the glove box and where the gauge cluster mounts. Now remove the dash pad by pulling up and away from the dash board. Install replacement pad in reverse order. -Ed
