Just got back from the first trip on my 06 and discovered an oil leak. The oil seems to be coming down the right radiator support. It was in sufficient quantity to drip on the ground. Any ideas where this could be coming from? Checked the oil level and it was full. There is only 1000 miles on this truck. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Jim
Black. There are two lines going into the radiator that have the oil on them as well. Since this truck is a manual I assume the two lines are for an oil cooler. Any thoughts?
Reason I asked was the transmission lines run on the right side.....since you have a manual trans the only solution is engine oil dripping off of the inter-cooler hose. On the passenger side you have two lines (air conditioning) that lead to a cooler in front of the radiator. If you look from the bottom of the truck upward you will see oil dripping off of the inter-cooler boot connection. Since the EPA came around, crank case ventilation is directed back into the intake, this accumulates in the intake tube.
Maximum, Thanks for the responses. I checked the intercooler hose. It does not have any oil on it like I used to find on my 04. Any idea about the two lines going into the bottom of the radiator? I think I will take it to the dealer whenever they can get it in. I will post results. Jim
Maximum, Took the truck to the dealer today. They say the intercooler is leaking. Parts on order. I also crawled underneath and traced the two lines going into the radiator. Well what do you know they connect to the transmission. So I guess they are cooling the fluid in the manual transmission. Hopefully the replacement of the intercooler will solve the oil leak. thanks.
