Talking Last nite

Well it is grad weekend. I'm already dreading how much Monday is going to blow,

but I'll enjoy it while it's fun. This whole week we have been having "grad meetings". On Wed. night we the whole grade twelve class and a few guests got "happy" and went out to the local playground. I guess we were loud, as the cops found out about us on high alert and had corned us. They said the fine for public "happiness" is 190. but the cops in colonsay are cool, just kid us around a little, just a warning talk and dumping out any "liquid courage".

That`s good that they have that positive attitude and not on a power trip.

That is cool but also Cops on "power trips" are not always on power trips until some smart *** decides to mouth off. I believe it is called respect. Treat people the way you would like to by treated. If you are in the wrong admit it take your lumps lots of times there won't be any. If you decide to tell the cops to F*** themselves now the story changes.

Totally agree but there are some power trippers that look too hard for trouble...Like the county mounty wanna be that gave my wife a ticket for speeding (4 kms over on a 90 km speed trap hi way) and then mouthed off for another 10 minutes being an insulting jack ***.
The RCMP on the other hand are a class act, they have always been great, proffessional in every way and helpfull.
Two very different kinds of law enforcement from opposite ends.

Those municipal cops are a pain! Yeah the mounties are usually pretty good. A few bad apples, but mostly quite professional. I think someone else was poasting about this earlier. Not trying to argue with the cop and only getting a small fine instead of being 'smart' and getting nailed. They deserve respect because of their position, but no high horses please!

I disagree. They should earn no more special respect for doing their job, the same as you or I doing our jobs. Law enforcement officers arent special. They are humans with jobs, just like us. Even if they do give tickets for "mouthing off" take it to court. The judge doesnt like it when cops abuse their power. I have gotten off of alot of tickets because of it.

Law enforcement is a tuff job and not one that I would want to tackle. Not all individuals are suitable for. The RCMP seem have a better screening procedure and a much higher hiring standard. That`s not to say that they are all perfect but much more so then our municipal force.

It is a tough job, I wouldnt want it either. Too easy to let personal opinions and emotions affect your performance.
