Uh Oh!!!! You Ran A Tap In The Head? What About The Shavings? Were There Any? Did You Do It When The Engine Was Completely Cold I Hope? Anyway, A Hole Is A Hole... If You Ran A Tap And You Tried Another Plug In It And It Still Will Not Go In, I Never Heard Of That One, Sorry, Keep Us Posted Thanks.

Hey Ford, This One Looks Like It Is Gonna Get Ugly, And Maybe Expensive Too.... Hopefully He Did Use A Spark Plug Tap And Put Some Grease On The Tap To Catch Any Metal.

Did you get a light and shine it down there to see if there's any obstructions?

yes i had the use of a bore scope and the seems to be some corrosion maybe where the plug metal and the alluminum had corroded. but i looked at the #1 cyl and it looked about the same. but the plugs goes just fine in that one.

good luck, usually you can not rethread the cyl head if it blows it out, it may work for a little while but will blow out again ... only real fix is to replace the cyl head. gotta love the aluminum heads on the v10s and v8s

if you ran the wrong tap in the cylinder, they sell taps and hellie coils(i can spell) at pepboy and autozone. basicly you tap out the hole bigger and put in the coil so that it returns to the right size.

If the engine is cold you should not have to worry about the cylinder. The first time you fire it up, all the little pieces fly out the exhaust port. Its usually a mechanics trying for more money on a rebuild.

I was under the same impression, when I had to tap a cross threaded plug in a vw corrado. I bought a rebuild kit, only to tear down the engine to find nothing wrong.

Chris

Good luck

This kit here is exactly what you need. http://www.timesert.com/html/triton_repair.html
I haven't used it myself, but I've heard several people praise it.
