Jody's chip's blow away Superchips. Custom is when u have special tuning requirements for certain mods like tranny, bigger injectors,HPOP ...etc.

So your telling me if I don't have any enhancments then a custon chip would be worthless.
Jody has standard performance tune files AND custom files (more expensive) incase u need them because of some radical mod(like big injectors). His standard files are incredible in themselve. I have the 80hp standard performance tune....WOW!

Not exactly. Jody's chip is more custom than any tuner, but it's not as customized as they come. Jody's chip will work a lot better than a tuner even with just an intake and exhaust. Of course, gauges, if you don't already have them, are highly reccomended before you do any sort of power upgrades.

If a tuner has Jody's tunes it will work the same. Jody's tunes are just more custom to the 7.3L PSD. I'm speaking of his product listing at his site.Standard tune files and Custom files JT.
Who makes custom chips jody, and who else? whos the best
Most of the people here feel that Jody's chips are some of the best around, but also the most expensive. Some others that are out there are DI, TS, Dieselsite, and several others. Some of it comes down to personal preferance, but I don't think you'll find anyone who is disappointed with jody's tuning. However, if you're budget is tight, a TS chip (which is less expensive) or similar will still work better than most of your off the shelf tuners.

This is very true. I keep forgetting that Jody's tunes are now available on a tuner, not just a chip. Nut is correct about the tuning of the files though, custom being more for your things like dual HPOP, big injectors, big turbos, etc... In that case, custom will be your best bet.

I agree here...Tony Wildman does good work too.

How'd that one slip my mind? I actually just got off the phone with Tony. Not for tuning though, but planning a trip to Colorado for a truck fest in July. Probably gonna meet up with him in Kansas and head out there.
