On a previous mpg thread two individuals reported outstand mpg's (in the 20's). Both these individuals had superchips. Anybody else sees these kinds of results? I currently have a Bob Riley programed 6 pos chip. I didn't see any gains in mpg. I currently get 16-19 mpg depending on my foot. On the previous thread one individual is talking 23-24 that would be astounding!
Simply put it's a combo of things that net more mpg's. Keeping rpm's under 2k is a big help. A really good mileage tune with all the supporting mods will work great. Really clean motor oil can help. 3.73 gearing is good. If gearing is too low
an auxiallary transmission can help(bucks!)

I am using Superchips 80 HP chip and have gotten as much as 25 mpg. Highway only it will bounce between 22 and 25 pretty much depending on my degree of road rage. Last fall I was without the chip for almost a month as it took a crap. The truck was no longer any fun to drive. Very noticeable changes in all aspects. I did not do any extending freeway driving during that month, but I did notice the fuel gauge would head south in a hurry.

I get excactly what your getting with my superchip on mid-setting. (which I think is pretty good) And I'm by no means "light on the throttle". 23-24 just seems alittle far fetched to me. I just can't see 445 cubic inches getting better mileage than a four banger. Ecspecially dragin' 7000+ lbs.

I can, what do I have to do, take one of you unbelievers to Alaska with me? I will take a woman and pay all expenses. A man will have to share expenses and post the results too.
Markadeck do you have 3.73 gears and a stick shift?
3.73's, tweaked auto. Sticks are for Corvettes and race cars. I put 300,000 on a '92 F-150, do you know how hard it is to eat, drink, smoke, and talk on the phone all at the same time while you are trying to shift?
