NO they are not the same as the 65 thru 79 Twin I Beams.
I am really curious WHY would you want balljoints, even if they could possibly be used on I-Beams? Which by the way, they can not.
Ball joints require either lower control arm & radius rod set up or "A" frame on bottom & upper control arm, "A" frame, or strut on the top or upper connection. They do not last as long as king pins in medium or severe duty applications, and require three times the maintenance.
I may not prefer King Pins on a race car, but on a road vehicle, I wish I could make my Aerocoupe T-Bird have king pins instead of the stupid Ball joints. . . .
my dads 89 or 90 has the exact set up as our 65 66 with the twin I beam and radis arm except it has a upper and lower ball joint I was just thinkin a guy would have more options for donar trucks
Okay, But the 87 & later is not "the exact set up" as a 65 thru 79.
Although it may look somewhat similar in design, it will not bolt up & work without a lot of adaptation, design & fabrication, and work. Your exception is a HUGE one. "It Has upper & lower Balljoints" makes it unlike the 65-79 system, right? For example what would the upper ball joints attach to on a 65-66 F Series? The new upper A frames off the later model? What + how would they attach to a 65-66. . .see where this is going? By the time it's done it will be a major effort.
65-79 OEM set ups virtually interchange bolt up style, especially when one takes the time to switch the entire system during the conversion process. Just changing spindles on to ones' existing I-Beams can become a little complicated sometimes. But all in all using a 73-79 Disc brake system is the qwik & easy way to do the swap, IMHO.

I was thinkin swapin the whole beams there is no upper A arm the I beam simply Ys out at the end excepting the two ball joints I am doin the 73 79 swap right now but have put ball joints on the newer style and was just thinkin out loud this truck is about a 90 or so two wheel drive and the suspention has coil springs and I beam style arms that the one holding the right wheel bolts on on the left and vice versa they also have a radius arm that bolts to this "I beam" behind the wheel and goes back about to the back of the fender like I said they seem quite similar in design but this one has ball joints I was thinkin out loud and thought this may give more optoins for parts trucks
i have looked into doing the same ting on my 66 and using an old haynes manual i have found the only differance is in the length of the ibeam and the diamiter of the king pin if you you swap the arm and spindle as a unit it should work but you may run into a clearance issue with the fenders which you can possibly change with an offset tire all i can recomend at this time is to get a good referance manual and look at the numbers for length and diameter and go with what suits you best
