Hi
I have a 1997 F250HD Diesel with 200,000 miles on it and a new trans, i just ordered a superchips microtuner for it and i was curious where the connector under the dash was, i know there is a data link connectore on the passenger and i saw a connector hanging under the drivers side with some platic box on the end of it(looks like a relay or a cover) and it looks as tho it should be mounted on something (looks like it sliped off) i was reading and it said the microtuner used the ALDL port to load up, where is this located on the 1997HD? I also have a full 4inch exhaust (no cat or muffler) (Sounds awsome) and a short ram intake, what kind of hp and tq numbers am i looking at?
Thanks
You said you've got full 4" exhaust, does that include Down Pipe? If not you will want to replace the OEM one when you start running your tuner. Most people will recomend gages to monitor temps & boost also.
Can you post some pics of your intake? If it's a K & N you might want to consider replacing it with a Tymar or simular. Alot of dusted turbos are being reported from using the K & N.
(My 2 cents)
yes its an aftermarket down pipe, gauges are next on this list and the intake is simply put, a filter put on the aluminum housing about a foot from the turbo, so it a sence its like a short ram, i noticed alot turbo lag with it and it also lets out a little turbo whine at the higher rpms, altho a full intake is in the future for this thing, also how would i post on this site, do i need to put them on another site first or can i just load them from a camera
you can save pics to your fte album. then to put them into a post you just copy it and then paste it into the text box. only post one pic though and put links for multiple pics.
Intake needs a good cleanin but here it is click view gallery, i was lookin at your picks and i noticed that you got the same exhuast i did, i did the exact same thing, i cut off the turn out on the end and put the tip at a 45 to the truck, the tip just stuck out to far when it made that last turn. what else have you done to your truck?
