I just got my brand new LMC catalog, and i'm looking through everything they sell to restore my 69, and I noticed that the grill sections jump straight from 66 to 70?!?
My grill isn't in bad shape considering the life of the truck, but its a bit banged up, and wavy from the years of work..
Does anyone make a decent replacement for the 69 Ranger grill? and if not, are there any tricks that I can use to straighten the grill without doing further damage to it?
No one is reproducing the 67-69 grilles. Your best bet is to go to the swap meets and watch ebay. You could also put an ad in Hemmings, and someone will find it for you. Expect a good one to be expensive, though. I bought a NOS 69 Ranger grille on ebay last year for $450.
I junked a 67 last year but before I got rid of it I kept the grill, all the emblems, and the hood. All are in great shape. Those parts cost a fortune if you had to buy them on ebay.
I went junk yard hunting today and found what looks like a '68 grill in pretty decent shape. It was painted white- probably the all steel type. I have no need for it so if someone is interested I could get a price and maybe some pictures. Email me at dt1972lr@juno.com.
