I-Beams
I was wondering if anyone here could tell me the difference in the I-Beams from an 80's truck to the ones in a 70's. The reason I am asking this is that I have a 72 F100 short bed with drum brakes up front and I would like to go to power disk brakes. I have read all about this swap here and a friend of mine did it on his '67 with late '70's disks. My deal is though that I have another friend who has a set of lowered I-Beams from his '85 with the whole disk brake setup on them that he would give me (he went to an a-arm type front suspension).

I can't tell you the difference, but I know the 80's beams are not a bolt in swap. Would you mind telling a little more about your buddies A-arm suspension? What parts, how hard, etc.? I wouldn't mind trying that myself. Thanks in advance.
