I Had The Y-pipe Put On The Other Day . It's Hard To Tell If It Made Much Difference,i Haven't Towed Yet. Seems To Get Up To Hwy Speed A Little Quicker.the Problem Is The Sound. Since I Was Flowing Through A Straight Thriugh Gibson It Sounded Like 2 V6 With Glass Packs. I Had Them Put 2 18" Glasspacks Between The Cat And Muff And It Brought It Back To Close To Where I Was.i Checked My Milage On The Computer After Reseting It On The Highway And Saw 1.5 Mpg + Diff W/ Same Driving Habits. I Will Watch It For A While And See What It Does.you Know, mods Get Depressing And Learning By Doing Costs $$$$$, Why Do We Do This To Ourselves?
cuz we are mindless idiots feeding the aftermarket monster
welcome to BSEG land, a true addiction that only driving a underpowered Dodge truck will cure... But hell, that is just too much to ask so we are stuck with a bad habit.. At least we won't get cancer from it and who knows, it just might really make us live a little longer...Hell I feel like I am good for another 35 40 years after driving the damned thing... hummm wonder what a 2046 MY SuperDuty will have as options...anti gravity kit?
spent 7k on mine and it's almost fully back to stock again. just my gears sets, tuner ,headers "as it's a big pain to put the big heavy logs back on" and a flow master custom ss single out the back end. this motor unless your going to force feed it don't pay to play with it.
i'll lay money on the line that the gears did more then any thing else maybe the tuner as i have the road speed stop turned off and the hemi jerks seem to hit it at about 95 and i keep going .
your y pipe did help a bit it's good money spent guy. infact that y kit on a 5.4 helps them out also
best wishes for you and your 2k v10 man. hang around we love to help and bust each others brass .
on edit
i should say more as the ypipe cat set cost me another $1.285.00 to replace back to stock
I just received my Flomaster y-pipe from Summit, and will have that put on before Memorial Day weekend... I know how the truck feels right now, and will let ya know if there is any noticeable seat of the pants improvement. I already have a 3 inch exhaust in it, just that the previous owner did not have the y-pipe changed. My 3" inch SS Bullet muffler sounds pretty good to me.

got er done!!! I LIKE IT!!! It's louder too. Seems to pull lots harder thru the rpm range...and I am moving a 4 door long bed 4x4 with 38"s!!! (well, at least to me it does). I think I spun the tires in front of my house. Anyhow, they did an excellent job- (D&D Muffler in Palmdale, CA). I posted pics in my gallery. Can't wait to tow my boat with this thing (2 weeks from now).
ummmm yeah going to Havasu Friday morning, should be a blast!! And for Capt, I have no idea what the famous "flutter" sound is suppose to sound like, but I don't notice any new noises what so ever. The y-pipe (and removal of the stock patheticly small OEM piping with rattly heat shields), seemed to have free'd up the exhuast alot. It definitely revs. quicker. From a rolling start (2-3 mph), I can smash the throttle to the floor and spin those big 38"s for about 4-5 feet. Actually sets me back in the seat which it did not do before. I got up to 60mph pretty quickly. One of my friends had a 2001 F250 (the big silver one in my gallery that I almost bought), and it had a Gibson muffler on it, that's it. His truck sounded aweful when he punched it. Maybe that was flutter I was hearing, my truck does not make that sound. I'll have the wife (I'm gonna get flamed for this one) do a couple hard accelerations while I stand in the street and listen to it, cuz its hard to tell exactly how it sounds when you are in the drivers seat.
You said y-pipe.. I was begining to think it was y-hipe Good to hear they worked I will wait to hear the results from the tow since we will be in Havi next weekend
jacob is down to 90
rich that shop did one awsome looking job for you.great week end with the boat floating around. mine is staying where it is .in the garage for sale . i need the room for the new motor cycle and it's side car
