Future Weapons

Anyone here watch that new series on Discovery Channel, "Future Weapons"?

It's hosted by former navy seal Richard Machowicz.

They have some pretty amazing weapons, both in the testing stage and on the drawing board.

BTW, what ever happened to Hunter Ellis of "Tactical to Practical" and "Man, Moment, Machine?

Another good show.

I really liked the programable bullet. A lazer measured the distance to the target, then programmed the bullet. When the bullet reaches the distance to the target, it explodes. So the shooter doesn't really have to aim at his target more than the original one time. The exploding round goes off above, below or inside the target at the exact distance. Scarey. Ya can't even hide behind a cement wall. They just sight in on yer head as it pops up, shoot over the top of the wall and you're dead meat. Real scarey.

I think the show's a little bit "fluffy", but I still like it. The tech is cool, and plenty of real explosions never hurts a show!

I think Mail Call has 'em beat.

R. Lee Ermey is a show in itself.

"O.K. MAGGOTS?"

I like the rail gun that can hurl a 15kg projectile, up to 450km away, and impact the target at a velocity over 1,600m/s (over 3,500mph).

Dude, get a DVR. I got one from the cable co. a few months ago, and now I don't miss the shows I like, and I can watch the 1-hour ones in 45 min. Mine's a dual-tuner model--I can record while watching another channel. Or, I can record two while watching a recorded program. Plus, it has a roughly hour-long buffer memory on both tuners as long as it is on, and on the channel continuously (changing the channel on the active tuner clears the buffer).

I like my knife.

It will have to do anyway, since I don't have a Remington.
