I'll be there too - will drive over from Rome, Georgia. You'll know me if you can SEE me....I tend to appear as a white blur. At a stop-light, I'm in a white 1975 F-100.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Feb-02 AT 00:32 AM (EST)]Monsta - I forgot - the F-100's Super Nationals is going on those days in Pigeon Forge. A LOT of nice rides there...
This year I'm still undecided if FTE is going to have a booth. We've had one in previous years but I've gotten tired of making the show a business/pleasure trip and want it to be solely pleasure. I think the extent of our booth is going to be our banner, along with a bunch of flyers and a schedule of where I'll be and what all the FTE members are planning to do. You won't find me manning a booth all weekend!
I'm Getting married that week at Ocean Isle on the beach....jeez..almost missed my own wedding!! You guys have a fine time.....I wish I could be there. Maybe next year..... :-X23
hey, can anyone tell mea good place to stay and any first time pigeon ford f100 nats hints? im driving in from kansas. i want to make the best of it. thanks, dan
The Grand Hotel is a waste of money. Run down rooms and over prices. The Ho-Jo, Days Inn and Econolodge are all okay. You won't find 4 and 5 star hotels so those will have to do.... They're all priced about the same so get the closest (though all are within walkin distance and driving will be hard with all the traffic).
This is my second year at PF. I just made my reservations at Rodeway Inn $26 for 2 nights; $53 for 2 nights. I stayed at HOJO last year and wanted a change. HOJO is in walking distance of the GRAND.
To find low rates, I used www.sidestep.com.
I'm still looking for an inexpensive car rental. Right now the going rate is $144 for the 4 days.
Tim , If you are flying into Tys ( McGhee Tyson ) in Knoxville , The rental car rates are somewhat higher than if you rent away from the airport . They tack on airport fees & tax that plus the local sales tax . I think Enterprise is the only one not at the airport & Im sure you can make arrangements for them to pick you up with the rental car at the airport . That may save you a little .
