Does the 10K mod interfere with the programming on the chip? If the chip is trying to control the fuel delivery, why would you want to change that?
A 10k mod is an inexpensive means to increase engine performance. If you have a chip, I would remove the 10k mod, especially if you have a chip programmed by Tony Wildman or Jody Tipton. These guys adjust parameters of the fuel injection to optimum - and the 10k mod is changing parameters. The result may not be good.
At the very least, before you order the chip, you should tell them you have a 10k mod and ask them whether or not to remove it.
