I have the Sonnax kit, and while I do like it, it really shows you how soft the stock TC lockup is. From all the chatter on here it sounds like the BTS valve body is definitely the way to go. That is what I will do if and when my tranny takes a dump.

Another vote for the BTS valve body. Mine replaced the sonnax valve and springs I had for 2+ years - NO comparison - worth every penny!!!

Call Brian at Brians' Truck shop: http://www.brianstruckshop.com/You need to talk with Brian as he will need some info on your truck and what you will be doing with it. He and Jody and DP-Tuner work well together.

It is $225. I ordered mine last week and can't wait to get it! I have a brand new Sonnax kit sitting in my garage, but after reading some of the threads from people who have had the sonnax kit and then switched to the BTS valve body, they said there is no comparison so I ordered one up.

I might be in the same boat here. I ordered my Sonnax kit and it has sat in my back seat for a month now. I may have to ebay off something to get the BTS valve body!

Very cool! I bought a Factory Tech valve body right after I bought my truck. A friend, sick of his mushy tranny, loved the way mine shifted. He laughed that I paid over $200, bought a Sonnax kit, saved nearly $150, and installed it.

He isn't laughing anymore. Shifting improved, but it isn't nearly as nice as mine.

By the way, Jody Tipton prefers the BTS. Still, it is hard for me to justify dumping expensive-and-verygood to get just-as-expensive-and-a-little-better. If I can find someone to buy my FT for a decently large fraction of what I paid, I'd consider changing to a BTS.
