at the top of the forum the (factory DP) was mentioned, sorry to sound dumb but im not up on all of the definitions, what is this?

There's never a dumb question on here...unless you ask about a Chevy.

That's the "factory downpipe" off the turbo. The first pipe from the turbo to the exhaust system. The largest you can fit (easily) is 4".

What does removing the intercooler insulation help?

removing the intercooler insulation is not for performance, its basicly cosmetic and it also lets you hear the turbo better, my sound really picked up, sounds alot better if you like the turbo noise...

I'm having my muffler removed today. Going with a straight pipe as well. I put K&N cold intake and programed the chip as well. Can really tell the difference.

Oh yea, it all makes driving more enjoyable,
You might want to check on the K&N, I dont really know, but alot of guys on here dont like the filtration with that system...(just my 2 cents)
And welcome to the site, there is more imformation here then any place else i have checked...good luck on your Rig..
