Try some PB blaster that stuff will loosen anything. You can spay that stuff on the bottom of a bolt and it crawls up the bolt in the threads when you hold it in the air. Its like 4.50 a can though.

It sounds like it is going to have to be hammered from the bottom anyways. That is a true bummer.
Well, first of all, i'm a retired (not retarded) welder and machinist and doesn't "think" but "knows" how metals react. I said heat, not melt. Torches come with tips other than cutting heads and rosebuds.I assumed most guys in here had a fairly good head on their shoulders or they wouldn't be working on the trucks themselves. I figured 2 or 10 heads were better than one. Thought i could help. Never ment to question your superior wisdom or steal your spotlight.

Please accept my apology, I in no way meant to sound like that rude. The more heads the better. I worked as a mechanic\fabrication\machinist business for a very long time before being sent to a desk to die a slow and painful death. And trust me, using torches to heat stuff up is well within my realm of getting things apart. I do not doubt your skills at all. I had a vision of a guy we will call him "Rob" using a torch to "heat" an area similar to the one we are referring and having warpage occur. So please forgive me. In my case (and I am sure some others having stuck dizzy's) There are mjor dissimilar material and rust issues.

Rob

Apology accepted my Ford Fan friend. The only thing we can "assume" in this and any forum is that the majority uf us are compitant. I realize some aren't even close, but must let them create that image themselves first. I belong to a number of different DIY forums and have "learned" alot from only what i've read, such is the same as listening first, in the real world. These forums are one of the best tools for people of the same interest, and need to remain sites revisited with anticipation. --- Happy motoring my Ford Pickup friends!
