Oh, there's a thread in here. Do a search for "crunch berries" and see what you come up with.
Found it. OUCH!! Not to laugh at somebody elses pain or anything, but.... Holy crap, that was friggin hilarious. I was laughing so hard the girlfriend had to come in and see if I was OK. Hope you invested in a bench vice now.
Damn. Id love to see oyu or someone build up one of these. http://www.rpmmachine.com/blks-carrol-shelby.shtml . At the shop I am working at the owners got that motor in an early mustang. but build that beast up for wheelin would be so bad. 6 bolt mains = big horsepower handleage
Why would I want to take a step backward in displacement, torque and horsepower? 1100-1200hp should get the job done just fine for now and then that's no longer enough I'll go to an Eliminator block and call it good.

I dont know if youd be going with less torque and horsepower. Less cubic inches tho. 526 inches outta an fe isnt bad. I just think its a bad *** block
At the sohp weve got one of these in an early mustang. Its at 468 inches and its the meanest thing i have ever heard open header. Its got .730 lift. Haha its insane.

Don't get me wrong, it's bad *** for an FE block and the FE's can be pretty mean engines if built right. But it's still not gonna touch a built to the hilt 385 series engine, that's just a plain and true fact. Now for a car it might not be a bad way to go because it's easier to squeeze in there but space isn't a concern for me.
Oh, btw, for the 460 equivalent of that FE block you posted (aluminum aftermarket block) you can have 640ci which isn't bad.
