Old suspension upgrade

well my 73 is a short wheel base but it is a F-100 Ranger XLT and is a factory 390...I suppose it must have been ordered with the traction loc then...I was suprised myself when I found it....I took it down to install a locker and discovered the 31 spline traction loc...I put 4.1 gears on it and dropped it back in.

Thanks guys, looks like unless I could find a Short bed trailer special (which I have never seen) then a desent f150 would be worth the effort, to get the disc brakes, tank in frame, suspension, and I think I read quicker steering. Hope I didn't tick someone off talking about chopping their favorite model years, Hey it just makes yours more valuable

You'd be suprised at the amount of healthy frames running around with really beat bodies on them. I wouldn't cut a clean 65-79 FoMoCo F Series, but if it's a neglected wreck that some boozer bent bad, I'd cut it before I'd let it become crush material, if you get my drift there. . . .I say it's better to save one as a transplant donor than send it to China so they can sell it back to us as something else, right?
