Well, I woke up yesterday morning with full intention of getting my new engine started for the first time. I mounted the new 157 tooth 50 oz. flexplate that I ordered from The Mustang Depot on eBay, torqued down all of the bolts , and realized that the teeth weren't where thay were supposed to be. Wait a minute. I know I ordered the right one. I ran upstairs and looked on my computer. Sure enough, 157 teeth, 50 ounces. I run back out to the garage and look at my receipt. 164 TEETH!!! 50 ounces. What the? . I then see at the bottom "no exchanges or refunds after 15 days from invoice date. NO EXCEPTIONS! " Whats the invoice date? 4/20/06. What was yesterday date? 05/06/06. 16 days. AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! This goes to show you that if you order something and you aren't going to use it for a couple of weeks, open it up, look at the receipt, and verify it's what you need. They made the mistake and because I didn't open it up and check it out, I now have a flexplate that I can't use. John
I think you should contact them and see if they'll work with you on exchanging the flywheel. Send them copies of the documents that verify you ordered the correct one. It's very common for us old vehicle guys to get ahead of ourselves and order parts way before we need them and not open them boxe for weeks or months after we receive them. Foolish yes, but we're talking about a bunch of people who take other people's refuse and try to bring it back to new. If that ain't the prime example of foolishness I don't know what is.

Good luck,

yeah, i think the same..
this is not your fault, and its not an exchange.. they simply sent you the wrong part. I ordered a bed kit from Midfifties and they didnt send me the stainless steel strips... I ordered the kit in the winter and never got to opening the boxes until about 2 1/2 months later..
I had a problem with a combination valve from MP Brakes. I didn't get around to bleeding the brakes until a year had passed. They sent me a new one with no problem. I did pay the freight to return the bad one but that's a small price to pay considering the valve was over $100.00. Most vendors realize parts will sit around on a project vehicle.
I agree, if you ordered the right one, and they sent the wrong one, it's their fault. Also, if you look in the federal laws, and most state laws, it doesn't matter what their policy says, they fouled up, and they are legally liable to correct it, or face fraud charges. I would call them and explain the situation, and be very diplomatic and polite about it. If they give you grief, ask to speak to a mananger, if that doesn't help, then call their states BBB, and lodge a complaint. It is their mistake, not yours, they are LEGALLY liable for the mistake, and have no legal standing whatsoever. If they care about their company and it's customer relations at all, they will exchange the part no problem, just expect to pay return shipping.
It was on ebay from an eBay store. The title of the item was for a 157 tooth flexplate not a 164 tooth. And I did pay with a credit card. Good idea. John
A quick update.... I talked to a guy named John at The Mustang Depot this morning at 11:00. He seemed pretty cool and told me he would get a new flexplate in the mail today and asked if I would send him the old one back. Really cool! So now I wait until the new one shows up. John
