I guess Waves was right, I thought for sure they put 15" on the 4.0 powered rangers, your wheels even look like the one's on my 96, and they were 15". If they were 15", I would sugest going to a 235 BFG AT KO's. Don't know nothing about 14" sizes. My son runs a 30" tire on his 04 2 wheel drive ranger, and it fits with only a slight rub with the wheels cut hard. Waves, whats some good meaty 14" sizes that would fit without a lift?
You could donate it to FFDAP (Fund For Dono's Assorted Projects) .... a very worthy cause.
As for the lift, I would pass .... but if it floats your boat, go for it.

Or he could stick it in ZSAFC (Zach's Savings Account For College)...
I don't get the "I have money, what mod should I buy" mentality. It always seemed more sensible to wait until something I wanted came along, and then buy it if I had the money, or save up for it if I didn't. That's just me, though.
I'm the same way john112deere, I find a thing I want to do, and go for it. I try not to throw useless money at it.
Dono, don't get me wrong, I'd love to add some money to that account, but I think I'll have to toss it into the ZTUBVFPF (Zach's Totally Useless But Very Fun Project Fund). How's that for an abbreivation? lol.

Enough with the lift talk. I'm leveling it (cheap), getting SLIGHTLY larger tires next time I get new ones, and regearing for more torque.
RP - ok go to one of the many tire wedsites and do a search by specific tire size - 27X8.50X14 you have some options on off road or all terrain type tires in that size, and they're 14's so you won't need to purchase new rims. That and a good set of shocks and you would be set...until you can afford a lift, wheels, and tires down the road. Seriously though, it's a less expensive option you might consider -
You can chose the width you want. Last set of tires I bought, I had a choice between 205 and 215. The only difference between the two tires was the 215 was 10 mm wider.
29" is the overall diameter of the tires. Width in mm should be 2xx for a Ranger, I would think. Little cars get into the high 1xx, and bigger trucks and racing slicks will get in to low 3xx.
The size I was telling you is taller and wider than what you have, but should not be too big for your stock truck...still you might have to just mount them on and check. Check some other tire websites, check some off road mags, the site I pointed you to does not show all the tires made in that size.....but it is a size that many all terrain type tires come in. I had a 92' 2x that I had them on.
