Question. Can anybody tell me why Ford did NOT see fit to put an amp or volt guage in the 06 6.0L SD? I have Oil Pressure, Fuel, Turbo Temp, Engine Temp, and Turbo Boost guages, but why no Amp or Volt meter? As much as it takes to turn those engines over, I figured that volts or amps would be a must have instrument? Anybody know this one?
Yep, it's going to be in the ballpark of 130A (current-MY PSDs have the option of a 130A "standard" alternator, a 140A "heavy-duty" alternator (presumably more power at idle), and the dual (140A+120A)).
Remember, it's 130A when the engine is spooled up. Assume it's capable of 50% of that at idle (unless you idle the engine up with AIC/SEIC), and subtract the load the truck is already pulling to run its electronics...

Because they're cheap? And, the oil pressure and trans temp gauges are useless.

In I think 2002?? or so they replaced the voltage gauge with the tranny temp gauge. My 2000 has a voltage gauge, but no tranny temp. Yours has a tranny temp but no voltage.

No my 06 PSD has a Turbo Temp. I'm planning on towing a 5th wheel camper trailer with it so I might add an exhaust temp and tranny temp though. I was just wondering why it didn't have an amp or a volt guage
I don't think so... Ford's site backs me up. You're talking about the gauge top-right? That's transmission temp. I've never seen a pyro in a 250/350 that wasn't aftermarket.

Huh.......Ok. Thought that was the turbo temp........That just goes to show you how far behind the curve I am on this beast. Reading all I can out here in the Wyoming wilderness, trying to get up to speed
