ok, is there any chance it will un-seat itself again? im pretty sure i check to see if it was leaking when i first put it in and it wasnt leaking. i still need to figure out why it wants to stall when i hit the gas a little, but thats not very important, i can drive it, it hasnt stalled on me yet.
I see your probelm is bigger then mine, The rough idle was most likely from your fpr.
The idle control valve is that little cylinder thing on the left side of your intake manifold.... the computer uses that to judge the idle rpm. If it sticks shut, it will idle erracticly around 500-600 rpm. So i figured that may be your problem.
no, i think what you are talking about is exactly my problem, it still idles rough with the FPR fixed, how would i go about cleaning that? i spayed carb cleaner and used a tooth brush but it still is very dirty in there, should i take it off completely and scrub it? maybe use a wire pipe cleaner?
ok, before i just sat it on there and screwed it down, this time i fiddled with it and it fit much better than before, ill just keep listening to the engine when i turn it off, i can hear it decompress the gas line when it was unseated.
I used wd-40 to free it up, but you may want to use carb cleaner 1st to loosen dirt.
Just squirt the stuff into both opening, andm by taking the solidoin off of it (by the two little screws) you can push onto the valve stem to move it and get it to stop sticking, then reassemble and tell us what happens.....
Nothing bad can happen from cleaning it so it worth a try.
there is a rubber washer type but it comes off easily, eisle89 what type of cleaner would that be?
Well there are a lot of different " carb cleaners " as opposed to " air intake cleaners ". When you mentioned carb cleaner, they're too strong to get on electrics such as the sensor ( solenoid ) attached to the end of the IAC, so take it off before you clean the body ( valve ). In this case the computer actually " senses" then adjusts through the solenoid so I misspoke there.
