help with code/sensor translation

hi i have an 88 F150 5.0L 4x4, and i pulled codes 22,33.
22-Manifold Absolute Pressure or BARO sensor out of range.
not sure what that means but i think it would have to do with my o2 sensor, because i put on headers a few months ago, and haven't put my o2 sensor back on...
33- EGR valve fault/ not closing properly.
probably may need cleaning? and/or replacing..

the main reason i checked was since i haven't put my o2 sensor back on my truck, my idle goes up and down whenever i put it into park, and i read on here that was normal without the o2 sensor. Now in the last week whenever i put my truck into Park or Neutral it stalls. I remember reading something on this awhile back but did a search and couldn't find the post.

if anyone could help or lead me to that post it'd be greatly appreciated
thanks

I had a Chevy that did the same thing you're describing. Turned out to be a piece of carbon stuck in the EGR valve, holding it open. They wanted 150.00 for the EGR, but Napa had a gasket with a screen in it that fixed it for 4 bux. I'd check the EGR valve for the idle problem. Probably want to re-install the O2 sensor as well.

have got another problem, i took my EGR valve off today, and was examining it, when the pipe that connects to it and goes under the intake broke off. It's jsut underneath i could get at it with my hands, i'm obviously going to have to replace it, my question is, do i really have to take the entire intake off to get at it, looks that way ti me but i thought i'd get a second opinion...?

also on the EGR valve, it appears theres a silver coating around it, was that once the gasket?

Code 22 is your MAP sensor and needs replacing, about $55. When mine went bad, I couldn't keep the truck running.
Code 33 is your EVP sensor, the sensor mounted on your EGR, about $25. Don't replace the EVP until you replace the bad pipe. The bad pipe may have something to do with your 33 code. Replace the pipe, clean your EGR, disconnect then reconnect your battery, drive for 10 minutes then re-check your codes.

Don't replace any sensors unless you get a bad code indicating THAT sensor.
