O2 sensor heater diagnostic?
However, on my passenger cars, there are four O2 sensors and they have heaters. The Autotap shows that they do indeed pass the O2 heater test, usually within a few miles after a reset (disconnect battery).
On my V10, it shows that it never passed the O2 heater test (incomplete), with more than 4K miles on it, last time I checked.
Anyone know if this is a fluke with the Autotap software or is there really an O2 heater test and it didn't pass it? Are there even heaters in the O2 sensors? I haven't checked if they are 2 or 3-wire... too lazy

thanks!

you bring up an interesting question about 02 sensors .
They are 4 wire sensors
yes they are heated and there are (2) 02 sensors on your truck as the same as my 5.4 v8
unless the truck is in california then it will have 3.
1 for each bank or head.
when using your scan tool do both sensors give you a reading 0 volts to 4.5 volts and fluctuate when the engine is running?
I'm looking at my v8 on my truck right now testing my new scan tool ez-link pro and mine says the same thing but one of my sensors is not reading ,I believe its bad
let me know what you find.

Autotap Windows v1.11 shows correct number of O2 sensors, but does not read B2S1. Still 0.00 volts. Wiring looks good and I doubt the O2 sensor is out with less than 6K miles.
Edit: Still "incomplete" on O2 sensor and O2 heater test. Looks like the map to find the O2 readings is out on both of our tools.

I wonder if we should swap pos and see what happens?
you know take one o2 and put in the other bank
vise/versa?

Autotap admits that, in at least the diag tests, they are "off" on the offset to find the diagnostic test results. That's why I show not having passed O2 tests. I suspect that they are also off on the O2 sensor readings. I have to wait for the newest version of the Windows Autotap to come out to try it in late March.
