i didnt think it could happen to me but i now cant stand driveing my truck in the stock setting, i hate how it sounds, accelerates, everything about the doggy feeling but just bump the **** to even the 20hp mode and it just wakes it up sounds great runs great it finally happened i used to be very happy with my truck stock and now i couldnt ever have it like that again. im very happy with jody and his chip
Yep, can't imagine ever going back to stock! I let my dad drive the X the other day while towing the boat(9000lb). He got this big grin and said "wow, this is better than mine feels empty!" He has a stock 2000 CC PSD. Pulled hills at 60 that drop him down to 40. He was amazed that we got 2 mpg better than he gets pulling the same load. I may have given him PMS.
I just installed Jody's PCM. I liked it. I have the 4 in MBRP exhaust, AIS airbox, AIH delete, CCV mod and Hellwig Swaybar with Bilstein Shocks. I will install a BD Diesel turbo timer. My WOT boost was about 17 psi and now it is at 22 psi. Jody told me to put a boost relief valve if I didn't want to have the PCM defuel the truck.
Well, it is too late for me. All you who read this, stay away from Jody's chips or you too will be lost to PMS. I'm lost already but maybe if you read this and take care, you can save yourselves before you............
this may be a dumb question but what are Jody's Chips? And are they safe to use with the blue CPS? Thanx. Links would be helpful
Jody Tipton of DP Tuner. He is one of, if not the best 7.3 tuner around. I think he recommends against the blue CPS because he tunes to the stock timing and the blue CPS changes the timing. Here is a link www.dp-tuner.com .

How did u make out with the issue u had on your new DP chip? Did he back-off on the timing?

Don't do it! I made the mistake of calling Jody a couple days ago and now I have a BTS valve body on the way, a brand new Sonnax kit sitting in my garage and a return phone call to Jody scheduled the day I install the BTS with my guages! Stop now!

Haaaaaa!!!! That sounds like me back in December and January. Just a couple of small things here and there have snowballed into much more than that. Who knows where my rig will be by the end of the year. My big hangup (read -> excuse) for not adding more has been the transmission....and we know what's happening there.
Man Jody is just the start (or for me, the middle ) of mods!! It NEVER ends - if you are calling and talking to Jody - you are already knee deep - might as well jump in!!

I am new to this tuner gig and need some guidance. I have a 2002 F350 CC dually and getting 16 mpg which is awsome compared to my 99 Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 I had that got 12 mpg on the road. I love this truck!!! It has great power and is very comfortable to drive except for needing an acre to turn it around. I tow my 8000 pound boat like it's not there. I have heard good things about the DP-Tuner and would love to get a little better milage and power. What do yall suggest I do?

Mileage and power are almost mutually exclusive. You get the power and you will romp on it all day long. I would suspect that Jody's chip could get you some better mileage IF you can keep your foot out of it. I just got it in and I have been goosing it whenever I can. All I have is the 60HP tow tune. I see that my boost just went up 4 psi and Jodi just told me I can have more if I have a device to make the MAP sensor see less than 22 psi so it doesn't defuel the vehicle. What do you think I will do?
Tnduke,
Call Jody at DP Tuner and talk with him. He is a great guy to talk to and will give you an honest answer to all of your questions. You will need a larger exhaust and guages to monitor the EGT's. He said I will get better gas mileage with his 80HP econo tune (which actually dyno'd at 105HP he told me) but like Aklim said, the temptation will be there now and right foot will become a addict!!!
Oh, believe me, it will be dropped. And, I'll likely have more proof than dyno sheets to show it. I'm not much of a puller, but I am a racer, so I have a feeling my truck is going to end up at the dragstrip before the summer is out. By no means do I went to end up with a Snow White type truck (although, I could call it Black Rain), but my goal is to have a street legal, daily drivable, low 13 second truck on #2 only - maybe 12's if it's on the bottle. Some phone calls have already been made to get the necessary information so I can start the process.
