The irresponsible actions of a Toyota executive do not mean that Toyota is losing focus.
$190 million is pocketchange for a company as big as Toyota.

I wouldn´t say pocketchange (yet it doesn´t have anything to do with Toyotas´s focus), still... why the company has liability for this?.

Because a company CAN be liable for what an employee does while they are on the job.
