I've got a '67 F100, and my driver's side window has stopped working.
from what I can tell, i need a new regulator/gearbox, keep hearing different terms from different folks. they're manual windows. The shaft for the handle is ok, but the internal gears are not. I can't seem to find a replacement to save my life, so i'd appreciate any ideas on alternate parts, if you have one layin around, or anything.
Too bad, I picked up a pair of window regulators from a Pick N Pull in Fairfield CA. I ended up not needing the passenger side.
But they're out there in the wrecking yards. I had my choice of a few trucks. I always look around to see which one already has other parts out of the way. However, finding a really good, tight one is tough, mine had a bit of play in the shaft, but it does work otherwise.
Don't know if you messed with them, but they come out and go in really easily. The tough part is not messing up the interior door panel when you pop off all of the little clips that keep it on.
If you're not familiar, pry on the clip and not the door panel.
Ladd, the '67 window regulators are different than the '68-'72 window regulators. I'd post some pics but something is wrong with the User Gallery today.
thanks for the info.. I've called the local yards.. I guess I'll have to start driving into the junkyard district across town.. I've already got the door apart, with no damage, thankfully.
