New Brake Pads

I got new pads for the front from Kragen. I have the two piston dayton calipers on a d44. At kragen, they asked if I have two piston calipers and I said yes.

The pads wont fit over the rotor.

Are there different size rotors used with the two piston calipers? Mine are 1.25" wide and the distance between the pads when loaded in the caliper is about 1.125"

What's the problem?

Did you compress the pistons all the way with a C-clamp?

I didnt try the c-clamp approach because they appear to be all the way down. I'll definitely try.

The axle was pulled out of a junked bronco. It's a d44 with 4.09 gears and two-piston daytons and it was originally leaf sprung.

My best guess is 73-79 F250.

The part# on the box is RPD120M

Except for being worn out are the new pads the same shape as the old ones?

That's a standard set of pads for 76 - 93 .

Unfortunately that site I linked to doesn't show the specs of all the rotors they list .

Yes, they are exactly the same except for thickness.

The last pads I bought were also quite thick. I compressed the crap out of my pistons to squeeze those bad boys in! But they did eventually go. Heavy duty C clamp, not the 'HELP' section pad compressor. (that does work well, but I found it only works on cars... Then there are the cars like the Lincoln Continental which have pistons you 'screw' back into place using a special spanner tool)
