'95 AODE, no third gear

I just finished my 302 to 351w swap, and because the tranny worked great before the engine swap I reused my existing AODE installed a B&M shift kit. I'm also reusing the 302 wiring harnesses and ECU. When I put the truck in "D"rive it starts out in 2nd and will not shift unless I run the RPM's over 3000 and let off the gas then it's like it's in neutral, no go. I can manually put it in "1" and "2" and they work fine. So I pulled the AODE out and figured it was time for a rebuild, the AODE had 104k on it. After the rebuild I put the tranny back in the truck and it's doing the same thing, no 3rd gear. The guy that rebuilt the tranny thinks it's probably electrical and suggested replacing the 1-2 solenoids. Any other ideas????? Thanks
