4wd problem please help!!!!

i have a 88 f150 4x4 with the 302 and mazda tranny. i just put a 4 inch lift on and 33x12.50's on it. my problem is when i lock the hubs in and put it in 4 hi or lo the tires like lock up and bind, and i can hear this noise from under the truck like metal on metal. it drives fine in 2wd. the front end does not bind even if i have the hubs locked in only when i engage 4wd. i know i need upper ball joints can this be the broblem? or maybe a bad u-joint? or a broken front diff? i dont think the diff is broken because i kock the hubs in and turn the truck off and turn the front drive shaft and everything moves fine. help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one more thing i noticed the radius arms look like the tire is rubbing on them, also i forgot to put the rear bushings on both radius arms. i have them and will be putting them on.

Do you get the same noise and binding if you put it in 4x4 and leave the front end UN-locked? If so, could be something wrong in the Tcase.

what about the driveshaft on the crosmember?

I just installed a 6" tough country lift in my '95 F150 Extended Cab 4x4 and had to notch the crossmember for the drive shaft. I also had to grind some of the weld on the drive shaft.
