I heard the Flowmasters weren't very good either, that's why I went with the Magnaflow. I really like the way it sounds. Also, I've got the extra gas tank as well, that's why we went with the single muffler. I went with two pipes into the single muffler with a single 3" on out from there. The muffler guy thought I should get a similar effect as an H pipe by doing that. The drivers side pipe has to go very close to the gas tank so we insulated it. It works very well and sounds great. The beefy 3" pipe sticking out the left rear looks, well, BIG and matches the sound.
To use the muffler as a H pipe connection point would be too far down stream to be effective, you want the H or X just after the collectors ( hot spot)
which is almost impossible at best as Mr. transmission and cross member are in the way.
Just after the trans U-joint is the only option unless you want monkey poo of a pipe run be it a H or X under the transmission which adds more heat to the trans as well a higher level of trans service difficulty.

Are you now an "Equal Opportunity Offender" with the new exhaust system at full throttle? A great addition to any FE, watch your fuel mileage go down as you put your foot into more to hear it.

its loud during acceleration, and all you hear at cruising speed is a melow hum. no noise in the engine compartment like there was before. it was a good that i decided to do this whole thing, the driverside manifold had big ol' crackes in it and the other was starting to get that bad.
