Keep us posted as far as what setup you decide on and what kind of effect it has on throttle response. I'm just curious because the stock spacer is 1" already- I'd like to know what adding another 1/2" to 1" would do for a two barrel.
Here's an update on my progress. As I said before I removed the water going through the spacer and that helped, but did not totaly solve it. So, I added the thick gasket that Matt suggested. While I had the carburetor off, I rebuilt it. After putting it back together I have not had any problems with a warm start so far. Of course I have only driven it once since then, but hopefully this takes care of it. If not, I guess the next step is to try one of the holley phenolic spacers.
I'm guessing the gasket was about 1/4" thick if I remember correctly. Was there any noticable change in throttle response after you added the thick gasket?
